In 1914, the Samuel Karsnov family established the Sure Fit company in Philadelphia, PA and virtually created the ready-made furniture slipcover industry. Prior to the debut of Sure Fit, most furniture covers were expensive, made-to-order vinyl protectors created by furniture tailors.
