Power generation through windmill installation re-affirms SSGs position as a socially responsible corporation. 25 such mills have been installed to date, generating nearly 23 million units annually. The electricity produced from the wind energy generators is used for captive consumption at all four of SSGs production plants, and the surplus electricity is sold to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.
